Hey Oklahama, comfort and performance come standard in the all new Dodge Avenger.

Following in the footsteps of its big brother, the legendary Charger, the 2010 Dodge Avenger has a commanding road presence with its broad shoulders, oversized headlamps and distinctive, cross-hatched, Dodge trademark grille. Packed with features and available options found in higher-priced vehicles, the Avenger performs with power and pizzazz on any roadway by maximizing available technology and innovative thinking.

Offered in two trim levels, SXT and R/T, the 2010 Avenger comes with a base 173-hp 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with 166 lb/ft of torque coupled to a four-speed automatic transmission. This powertrain offers an EPA-estimated 21 mpg city and 30 mpg highway. For those wanting true sportscar flair, the R/T has an available 3.5-liter V6 topping out at 235 hp and 232 lb/ft of torque. 2010 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon – Ultimate Offroad Vehicle

Saturday, December 12th, 2009

If you ever thought of owning a Jeep Wrangler because you’ve always wanted to go offroading there are some things to keep in mind when getting out on the trails. Jeeps are made for crawling over rocks and maneuvering through trees to get you deeper into the woods but what happens if you get stuck. There are add-ons such as a winch you can mount on the front that will help get you out of those situations but there’s a lot to consider if you haven’t done much offroading.

To get the most out of the experience in owning a Jeep there are some research tips and helpful forums on the internet where you can learn a great deal about it. These groups of people generally share all kinds of information and are usually excited when someone knew wants to get into the sport. The members will help you get acquainted with the Jeep whether you’ve been thinking about buying or have already purchased one. They also have weekend trips where they might pick a trail and you could attend with or without your Jeep to see first hand what some of the experts can do with these ultimate offroad vehicles.

In addition, you can usually find lots of pictures online of previous outings where you may have been thinking about going offroad. These will help you preview the difficulty or challenges you might face should you decide to go. There are trails that might have more rocks than others or some that have very narrow paths so knowing in advance might be really helpful in preventing you getting stuck along the way.

These new Jeeps coming out are very well equipped with the best components you can buy. The Rubicon for example, is like the offroad enthusiasts dream with all the hardcore features that you might need the more you get into offroading. Such upgrades as front and rear Dana 44 axles with locking differentials controlled via electronic solenoids makes the Rubicon stand up some of the most hard-core offroad rigs.

The Jeep Wrangler drives as smooth as a Lexus on the street. You’d never think such a smooth driving vehicle would also be so rugged and unstoppable on the trails. MSRP on the 2010 Jeep Rubicon is starting around $37,255.

Dodge Journey Movin’ Oklahoma

Wednesday, December 9th, 2009

Midsize crossover vehicle makes great use of its innovative interior space.

The Dodge Journey is a great example of what a car company can achieve when it focuses the sum of its experiences to create one of the most practical, utility-minded and comfortable midsize crossover vehicles available.

The Dodge Journey (MSRP $21,600) strikes a balance between the minivans the brand is famous for and more truck-like sport utility vehicles like the Durango. In terms of exterior styling, the Journey is undeniably a Dodge, bearing the ram’s head logo proudly on the large crosshair grille with which the company has become associated. Although the vehicle’s profile suggests the Grand Caravan in terms of its greenhouse presentation and roofline, a shorter rear deck and greater ground clearance place it firmly in the crossover category. Additional sporty fender flares remove any doubt that the Journey bears anything more than a tangential relation to its minivan cousin.

The most attractive features that set the Journey apart from other crossovers can be found once any of its four doors are opened and the interior is examined for the first time. Capable of transporting up to seven passengers thanks to an optional third row of seating, the Journey is a competent people mover that incorporates several innovations into its cabin management. Stadium seating prevents those riding in the back from feeling lost in the shuffle during a road trip, and the Tilt ‘n Slide feature makes it easy to access that final row of seating by getting the second row up and out of the way in a hurry. Every seat save that of the driver folds forward in order to provide for a nine-foot cargo bay that can accommodate up to 67.6 cubic feet of luggage or other gear. The front passenger position also offers a storage bin that is hidden under the lower portion of the seat cushion, accessible via a simple forward flip.
